 24/02/2010

The National Parliamentary Library of Georgia received the copies of the Khariton Shavishvili’s private archival materials. Khariton Shavishvili was a diplomatic representative of the Democratic Republic of Georgia in Switzerland in 1918-1934. The documents were passed to the NPLG with the assistance of the United Nations Organization, the Swiss Federal Archive, and the Geneva National Archive.

It was a result of the fruitful collaboration between the organizations on the initiative of the National Parliamentary Library of Georgia. At the same time, the Swiss National Library also delivered the copies of Khariton Shavishvili’s books to the NPLG. At present, the materials are being translated and studied.

Besides, the NPLG received Khariton Shavishvili’s book Saint-Nino published in Geneva in 1964. The book is a gift by Despine Koiava, a leading specialist at the NPLG. Mrs Koiava purchased the book when living in Geneva.
